Roll-to-Roll Fabric Embossing

Industrial Fabric Embossing Calender

The ME Series is an industrial calender family that applies permanent embossed patterns (3D relief texture) to fabric. A patterned roller transfers its engraved surface to the fabric under heat and pressure, leaving a durable three-dimensional design. Applications span home textile (curtains, cushion covers, quilts, tablecloths), fashion fabrics, furniture upholstery, automotive interior trim and fashion accessories. Custom rollers can be engraved to any pattern the customer specifies — geometric, natural, logo, technical. A plain roller option is available too, so the same machine serves different products through interchangeable rollers.

Applications and Industries

The ME Series is used to apply permanent embossed patterns to fabric surfaces. Different rollers produce different patterns: • Home textile: decorative curtains, cushion faces, duvet covers, tablecloths, towels, decorative rugs • Fashion fabric: scarves, apparel fabric, jacket and coat fabric, accessory fabric • Furniture upholstery: sofa fabric, chair and mattress fabric, decorative cushion covers • Automotive interior trim: seat covers, door panels, headliner fabric, leather-effect upholstery • Fashion accessory: bag fabric, hat fabric, belt fabric • Industrial fabric: safety fabric, insulation fabric, filter fabric (anti-slip or directional patterns) Two drum-diameter options fit different production needs — a smaller diameter for fine-detail fashion fabric, a larger diameter for volume production.

Embossing Capacity Across Five Working Widths

Fabric embossing is a different process from sublimation transfer. Instead of vapour-depositing dye into polyester fibres, the ME chassis combines heat, pressure and a patterned steel drum to press a permanent three-dimensional texture into the fabric surface. The engraved pattern lives on the drum itself — swap the drum to swap the pattern. The ME series spans five working widths on a single Ø350 mm oil-heated drum: ME-190W-350D, ME-220W-350D, ME-260W-350D, ME-330W-350D and ME-440W-350D. One drum diameter across the line keeps pressure geometry consistent from curtain-width 1900 mm production up to four-metre home-textile and contract soft-signage runs. Maximum operating temperature is 230 °C on every ME configuration — confirmed by engineering for both the 1900 mm and 2600 mm builds. The oil-heating circuit with continuous-operation hardening recovers temperature quickly after feed changes, so pattern depth stays uniform across long rolls. Production speed on the ME-190W-350D runs 0.0–9.2 m/min through an AC inverter drive — the operator dials in dwell time for the pattern depth the order requires. Power draw starts at 26 kW total (23 kW resistance) on the 1900 mm machine and steps up to 34 kW total (30 kW resistance) on the 2600 mm width. The engraved drum is replaceable. Run curtain brocade this week, upholstery basket-weave the next, automotive-interior perforation texture the week after — the chassis stays; only the pattern drum rotates through your library. Pneumatic brake input and manually adjusted automatic winding handle the fabric path. Installation footprint for the ME-190W-350D packs to 3300 × 2000 × 1900 mm at 2400 kg net. Wider models scale proportionally — share your factory layout at quote stage and we configure rail direction, winding side and drum library accordingly.

Integrated Safety Systems

The industrial design of the ME Series includes 12 independent layers of protection. Operator safety • 4 emergency stop buttons + pull-rope emergency stop — strategically placed around the large machine • Audible alarm and visual indicator (yellow lamp) Electrical protection • Phase protection — cuts on voltage fluctuation • Fuse protection — isolates on circuit fault • Earth-leakage protection — cuts on residual current • Contactor protection system Thermal protection • Automatic overheat cut-off at 240 °C • Heating-circuit protection Drum safety • Drum pressure-relief system — automatic release on abnormal pressure inside the drum Pneumatic system safety • Air-loss protection — when the compressor fails or air supply stops, the machine auto-detects the lack of pneumatic pressure, drops speed to minimum, and runs the felt forward and backward in short intervals to prevent it from drifting sideways. The felt stays safe until air returns. Sensor reliability • Sensor-fault detection — backup circuit engages if main sensor fails • Sensor-cable protection — safe lockout on mechanical disconnection For warranty, installation and service details, contact our team.

Design Decisions Behind the ME Series

Custom-pattern roller manufacturing. Custom rollers can be produced for the customer's own logo, brand or design. CNC engraving is used to produce from a pattern file; different rollers are stocked for different patterns, so the same machine serves several job types. Quick roller changeover. A pneumatic locking shaft system is used to move between patterns — there is no long mechanical disassembly. Several patterns can be produced in a single shift; a practical design for small-batch, many-order factories. Two drum-diameter options. A large-diameter roller is preferred for volume production; a smaller-diameter roller is preferred for fine-detail fashion fabric. The choice is made by job type. Digital thermostat control panel. Temperature and speed are entered directly by the operator — no complex interface, so training is short. Oil-heated drum. An oil-heating system delivers uniform heat distribution; a consistent emboss depth is achieved across the fabric surface. No cold spots develop on the drum. 220V voltage option. In addition to the standard configuration, the machine can be delivered in a 220V build for countries with 220V infrastructure. Specified at order. Internationally readable model code. The ME format directly states working width and drum diameter — a foreign buyer grasps it instantly in the technical catalogue.
